Looks like VMWare is making good use of RSS as you can see here. You can create a custom feed with the type of news from them that you want (articles, events, news releases, success stories, vmware products).

Looks like they are using technology from www.simplefeed.com (website simply says they are in stealth mode). Maybe they should partner with SimpleFilter.
